The difference between animation and video is video takes continuous motion and breaks it up into discrete frames, animation starts with independent pictures and puts them together to form the illusion of continuous motion.
Animation is the rapid display of a sequence of images of 2-D or 3-D artwork or model positions in order to create an illusion of movement. introduction of newer technologies and platforms has facilitated the growth of the worldwide gaming industry. The global gaming market is expected to increase. Also the mobile gaming will dominate the market with its share in the total Indian gaming market. Key services currently outsourced in gaming include production and testing activities.
A key factor restricting the growth and gaming in India is the scarcity of skilled professionals. Though things are changing now and India’s animation sector is witnessing a manor boom. Other companies are outsourcing animation from India for commercials and computer games.
The future looks bright for those having knowledge of 2D Animation and 3D Animation, Drawing fundamentals, basic principles of animation, pre production, 3ds Max, Maya, softimage, sound forge, premier etc.
For applying for a diploma course in animation, one has to pass the 12th standard examination from any recognized board with a minimum of 45% marks.
